Chapter 4 - The First Missing Piece
Bethany went through every backup she had. Cloud storage. Emails. Old device backups. The missing pages — from her first deployment — were gone from everywhere.
She called her former flight lead from that tour. Major Elena Torres, now stationed at Fort Leavenworth.
"Pages 14 through 18?" Torres said. "Those were the ones documenting the supply flight. The one Finch — senior — was supposed to be on before he pulled his son in at the last minute."
"Pulled him in?"
"Reassigned the mission. Said his son needed flight hours. The original pilot — Captain Reeves — was bumped. That was the flight that went down, Beth. Everyone knew Reeves should have been there."

"KIA. No survivors. Finch wrote the report — pilot error. End of story." Torres paused. "Reeves's wife never believed it. She asked me to look into it. I started… and then I got reassigned. Suddenly."
