Trevor hit like a truck full of smaller trucks.
Eli’s first block numbed both arms.
The second cracked the ring floor.
The crowd cheered.
They did not know Trevor’s heart rate was climbing toward disaster.
Priya shouted from ringside, “Two minutes!”
Eli used Street Step to stay close instead of far.
Trevor swung.
Eli redirected.
Again.
Again.
Borrowed Force guided Trevor’s own power away from his organs.
But the Void residue kept building.
Elias, the voice in the system, spoke quietly.
“Use your Beggar’s Loop.”
“To do what?”
“Eat the excess.”
“That sounds terrible.”
“It is.”
Eli grabbed Trevor’s wrist.
He reversed his cultivation loop.
Corrupted qi rushed into him.
Pain tore through every meridian.
His system filled with red warnings.
Trevor collapsed.
Eli dropped to one knee.
For five seconds, he thought he had killed both of them.
Then Priya jumped into the ring.
Trevor breathed.
So did Eli.
The referee called the match.
Trevor could not continue.
Eli advanced.
The crowd booed at first.
Then medical staff explained Trevor had been in danger.
The boos became applause.
His system chimed.
[SAVE TREVOR — COMPLETE]
[UNIQUE REWARD: VOID RESISTANCE I]
[QI GATHERING V]
Trevor woke in the clinic twenty minutes later.
“You beat me?”
“I saved you.”
“That’s worse.”
“Good.”
Trevor smiled weakly.
Then his expression changed.
“Lucas gave me something before the tournament.”
“What?”
“A vitamin patch.”
Eli looked toward the semifinal arena.
