Chapter 33 - Maya vs. Lucas
Maya was Qi Gathering VI.
Lucas’s cultivation still displayed UNKNOWN.
The match began.
Maya attacked first.
Fire talismans surrounded Lucas from three directions.
He walked through the flames.
Not blocked.
Not dodged.
Walked through.
Eli’s system flickered.
[VOID INTERFERENCE DETECTED.]
Lucas moved.
One strike hit Maya’s shoulder.
She flew across the ring.
The audience went silent.
Mr. Zhou stood.
“Stop the match.”
The referee hesitated.
Lucas attacked again.
Maya barely blocked.
Black qi crawled along Lucas’s arm beneath the skin.
Eli recognized it from the lab.
Void Seed.
Maya trapped Lucas with five talismans and formed a flame cage.
For one moment, it worked.
Then Lucas tore through it.
His cultivation finally appeared.
[QI GATHERING IX — UNSTABLE]
He had jumped three realms.
Maya raised both arms.
A golden barrier formed.
Lucas punched through it.
Eli ran toward the ring.
Security blocked him.
Lucas’s second punch stopped one inch from Maya’s face.
The referee had finally activated the emergency ward.
Match over.
Lucas won.
Maya was carried out with a fractured shoulder and damaged meridians.
Eli sat beside her in the medical room.
She tried to smile.
“Don’t do anything stupid.”
His system displayed:
[SEMIFINAL OPPONENT: JACE MORENO]
Then:
[PROJECTED FINAL OPPONENT: LUCAS VANE]
Eli looked at Maya.
May you like
“I will do something carefully stupid.”
